Young Web Solutions
Co-founded a student-led startup providing web development and UI/UX design services for local businesses and student organizations.
The Idea
Young Web Solutions started from a simple observation: local businesses and student organizations needed professional web presence but couldn't afford agency prices. A group of us — students with web development and design skills — decided to bridge that gap.
What We Built
We co-founded a student-led startup that provided:
- Web development — responsive, modern websites built with contemporary frameworks and best practices
- UI/UX design — user-centered design services including wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing
- Brand identity — logo design, color systems, and visual language for small businesses and student orgs
How We Operated
As a co-founder, I was involved across the full spectrum:
- Client discovery — meeting with clients to understand their needs, translating business requirements into technical specifications
- Development — hands-on coding and implementation of web projects
- Team coordination — managing a small team of student developers and designers, establishing workflows and quality standards
- Business development — pitching to potential clients, managing timelines, and handling deliverables
What I Took Away
Running a startup as a student taught me things no course could: managing client expectations, shipping under deadlines, balancing quality with speed, and leading a team where everyone is also juggling academics. The experience of going from client conversation to deployed product is something I carry into every project I build today.
